BL3458 Quad GPON Optical Line Terminal OLT Controller

BroadLight’s BL3458 is a highly integrated four-port Gigabit PON Optical Line Terminal (OLT) System-on-Chip (SoC). The BL3458 SoC integrates GPON Media Access Control (MAC) functions, GPON protocol management, Ethernet MAC functions, and an embedded host CPU subsystem. Along with PONJacket, the comprehensive OLT software development package, with a complete set of device drivers, designers can realize quick and low-risk time to market development of high density ITU-T G.984 compliant OLT equipment. 

 

BL3458 supports a programmable Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation mechanism (DBA). Seamless inter-connectivity with optical transceivers, Ethernet switches or Network Processors and DDR2 memory which significantly reduces complexity, power and cost during high density OLT designs.

 

BL3458 is the industry's highest density and lowest power OLT device.
