BL25590 Dual Core Embedded Processor

Part of the Helios Family, the BL25590 is a cost-effective, low-power, and highly integrated embedded processor optimized for rich service delivery in intelligent CPE applications.

 

BL25590 features a dual core MIPS 74Kc™ Host Application Processor with up to 4000 Dhrystone MIPS, where one MIPS functions as an application control processor and the other MIPS operates as an Offload Engine. BL25590 also includes a Network Processor, the industry’s most advanced interfaces, including six Gigabit Ethernet ports, an Ethernet switch, four channel VoIP DSP with comprehensive telephony suite, PCIe and USB 2.0 ports, along with unrivaled QoS management, security and hardware acceleration.

 

The RunnerGrid Network Processor enables unmatched service application flexibility with benchmark performance. The RunnerGrid instruction set has been designed from the ground up and is optimized to accelerate service and networking over a wide range of protocols and traffic management models, while maintaining up to 4 Gbps throughput. Each processor executes independently, giving maximum flexibility for the concurrent processing of CPE applications and high throughput networking services.

 

The Offload Engine allows the Host Application Processor to offload certain functionality, enabling high performance for Wi-Fi and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) applications.
